How to pick a coverall for your shift.
Most coverall buyers over-spec. Crews working a 0°F to −10°F warehouse don't need −50°F gear. Crews in a −20°F freezer absolutely do. Match the rating to your shift and you'll be warmer, lighter on your feet, and you'll spend less.
Two specs drive the rating: insulation weight (grams of polyester batting per square meter) and shell density (the windproof outer layer). 200g shells rated to −50°F protect against the wind-cut at extreme cold; 100–150g shells work for mild winter outdoor work.
Don't size for "no layer" — size for the thermal base you'll wear under it. Go one size up if you layer fleece + thermal base. If you're between sizes for a fleece-only setup, go down.
